Cadan Murley’s expected absence against France on Saturday, due to a foot injury, leaves England boss Steve Borthwick with a back-three poser for the Twickenham clash.

Murley scored a try on debut in a narrow loss to defending champions Ireland last week at the Aviva Stadium in round 1 of the 2025 Six Nations. According to widespread reports, the Harlequins winger missed Monday's training and is unlikely to feature in London, where England aim to bounce back to winning ways.

His absence will force Borthwick into a back-three reshuffle, with Ollie Sleightholme, Tom Roebuck or Elliot Daly as options, though Borthwick could also choose to shift Freddie Steward to the wing and start Marcus Smith at fullback.

With France unbeaten in four games, Borthwick's charges have their work cut out for them as the loss in Dublin marked a seventh defeat in nine Tests against all opponents.
