10/03/2024 03:35 PM
Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu is putting in every effort to regain his spot in the Springbok squad in time for the November test series amid a knee injury that has ruled him out for the past few games.
This comes amid rumours that he could be sidelined for the rest of the year due to the risks of a repeat injury.
However, the flyhalf is proving that he is ready and eager to put in the work.
SACHA FEINBERG-MNGOMEZULU TEASES COMEBACK?
In an Instagram post, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu revealed that not only had his knee surgery been successful, but that he was working hard on his injury rehalbilitation.
In a clip, the 22-year-old was seen flexing his muscles.
"Learning to fly – again," he defiantly captioned the post.
In the comments section, many Springbok fans were excited to see the rising star stay positive and hopefully make a quick recovery.
Sacha's post comes days after Stormers boss John Dobson revealed that his club player may have suffered a repeat injury. It also follows Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus's revelation that Sacha "hid" his injury during the test series against the All Blacks in August.
Dobson said in a media briefing: "There was some damage to the same knee he injured last year.
"That is a concern, having injured the same knee twice in a year," the Stormers boss added.
"The official prognosis is an eight-week lay-off.
"However, given the history and given that you can get an early onset of arthritis with a repeat injury, it will be a tragedy for a player that has a massive contribution to make to the game in South Africa and the Stormers."
BACK IN TIME FOR NOVEMBER SPRINGBOK TEST SERIES?
According to RugbyPass, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu will likely sit out the rest of the year when it comes to playing rugby, not only for the Springboks, but the Stormers too.
Meanwhile, the Boks have just three matches left on their 2024 test schedule. Sadly, all of them are abroad.
Here's who and when they will play next…
- 10 November: Scotland vs SA (Murrayfield, Edinburgh)
- 16 November: England vs SA (Twickenham, London)
- 23 November: Wales vs SA (Principality Stadium, Cardiff)
