Veterans Peter O'Mahony and Robbie Henshaw return to the Ireland starting XV for the Six Nations showdown against Scotland at Murrayfield on Sunday.

O'Mahony replaces Ryan Baird in the back row to earn his 95th Test cap, returning to Ireland’s starting lineup for the first time since the loss against the Springboks at Loftus Versfeld in July. Henshaw comes (77 Tests) in for Garry Ringrose in the only change to the side that beat England in Dublin last week.

Injury concerns from the opening round of the championship have eased – including Mack Hansen and Finlay Bealham – allowing head coach Simon Easterby to retain much of his lineup, with Sam Prendergast continuing at flyhalf.

Jamison Gibson-Park partners Prendergast, with Andrew Porter, Rónan Kelleher, and Bealham forming a settled front row. Tadhg Beirne and James Ryan remain in the second row, while 35-year-old O'Mahony, Josh van der Flier and captain Caelan Doris complete the pack.

The backline sees Hugo Keenan at fullback alongside Hansen and James Lowe, with Bundee Aki and Henshaw in midfield.

Ireland will look to build on their winning start against a Scotland side coming off a bonus-point victory over Italy.
