Rassie Erasmus’ Springboks are bracing for a titanic battle against Steve Borthwick’s England at HQ on Saturday.

TALE OF THE TAPE

The bitter rivals will, however, head into this blue-ribbon fixture on unbalanced footings. South Africa kicked off their end-of-year Test campaign with a solid victory over Scotland, while England started their end-of-year series with twin defeats against the All Blacks and Wallabies.

Erasmus boasts a remarkable win (five wins out of eight Tests = 62.5%) record against England since taking charge of the Springboks back in 2018, including that heart-stopping 16-15 win over the Roses in last year’s World Cup semi-final.

RASSIE ERASMUS WARY OF TWICKENHAM CHALLENGE

Looking forward to the next instalment of this always fiercely contested showdown against England at Twickenham, Erasmus said it would be a different test altogether.

"Next week against England will be a different challenge as we will be facing a desperate team that come off two losses in matches they could have won."

“There will be 80,000 people and that is a different kind of pressure. England is now that desperate team who almost beat New Zealand and Australia, so it's going to be very tough.”
