Duhan out, Lions tour in doubt

Duhan van der Merwe has been ruled out of Edinburgh’s round-of-16 Champions Cup playoff against the Lions on Friday night.
The club confirmed that the South African winger will be sidelined until May after suffering an ankle injury against the Dragons last Friday.
Edinburgh have two Vodacom URC league-stage fixtures scheduled for next month – on the 10th and 16th – before a potential quarter-final (they are currently eighth on the log).
Van der Merwe’s participation in the British & Irish Lions’ tour of Australia in July and August is now also in doubt, with coach Andy Farrell set to name his squad on 8 May.
The 29-year-old played in all three Lions Tests against the Springboks in 2021.
