Bulls reignite push for Bok centre

The Vodacom Bulls are in talks for a Springbok centre to make a sensational return to Loftus Versfeld, with renewed hopes that a deal can be successfully pushed through.
Jan Serfontein, who last played for the Bulls in 2017 before joining Montpellier, is reportedly eager to return to Loftus Versfeld.
However, according to Sunday newspaper Rapport, a potential snag is that Serfontein is still waiting on a French citizenship application, which could delay his return to South African rugby until mid-2025.
Discussions to bring Serfontein back to Pretoria in 2024 reportedly fell through at the last minute due to his citizenship application. With the process nearing its conclusion, however, there's growing optimism that Serfontein will rejoin the Bulls after his contract with Montpellier ends in June 2025.
Serfontein has been vocal about his desire to wear the Bok jersey again.
"If you play in South Africa, you are seen more. The French Top 14 is not broadcast in South Africa. If I can play in South Africa, I would like to be eligible for the Boks again," he told Rapport.
His last Test match, against New Zealand in Cape Town, was back in 2017, but a return to local rugby could bring him back into the Springbok fold.
Meanwhile, the Bulls are also reportedly tracking Carlu Sadie, the Bordeaux Begles tighthead prop, as well as Stormers scrumhalf Paul de Wet, who has reportedly already committed to a move to Pretoria.
