The Wallabies are in the market a head coach following confirmation that Joe Schmidt he will vacant the role after the 2025 Rugby Championship.
Schmidt was originally only contracted to coach the Wallabies until the end of their three-Test series against the British and Irish Lions in early August, but there were contract negotiations underway to extend his stay.
However, the New Zealand has announced that his extension will only go until the end of the 2025 Rugby Championship, meaning his last Test in charge of the Wallabies will now be the Bledisloe Cup showdown against the All Blacks on 4 October.
The Wallabies have improved in heaps and bounds since Schmidt took over and many were hopeful that he’d be at the helm until the 2027 Rugby World Cup at least.
But Schmidt made the though decision to quit due to family reasons, which primarily included his son's health requiring constant care.

Rugby Australia's high-performance director Peter Horne explained everyone within the organisation understands and supports Schmidt’s decision to quit the Wallabies.
"Joe expressed his enjoyment working with the team but also his need to spend more time with family," he said.
Super Rugby coaches Les Kiss (Reds), Dan McKellar (Waratahs), and Stephen Larkham (Brumbies) are the frontrunners in the race for fill the Wallabies post, but former boss Michael Cheika is also said to be a candidate.
