Sharks rejig backline for Bordeaux clash
Sharks coach John Plumtree has made several changes to his backline for Saturday’s Investec Champions Cup match against Bordeaux Begles at the Stade Chaban-Delmas.
Grant Williams and Siya Masuku will start as the halfback pairing in place of the Hendrikse brothers, Jaden and Jordan (who is injured), while Yaw Penxe shifts to fullback.
Eduan Keyter is moved to Penxe’s wing, Ethan Hooker takes over from the injured Makazole Mapimpi on the left wing, and Jurenzo Julius starts at outside centre.
Among the pack, Ntuthuko Mchunu will start at loosehead prop with Springbok Ox Nche on the bench, while Trevor Nyakane comes in at tighthead for the injured Vincent Koch.
"Ox has shouldered a big responsibility, he's played a lot of rugby and we obviously have a fairly big injury toll right now," explained Plumtree.
Loose forwards Vincent Tshituka and James Venter were not available for selection due to injury.
