Lions beef up for Zebre hunt

Lions wing Richard Kriel makes a welcome return as centres Marius Louw and Henco van Wyk combine for the first time this season against Zebre in Parma on Saturday.

Ivan van Rooyen’s charges will be hoping to continue their unbeaten run in round 5 of the Vodacom URC at Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi.

Louw and Van Wyk have had impressive cameos off the bench in recent matches and will be tasked with bringing pace and physicality for the pride this week.

Kriel, meanwhile, will face his former team following a shoulder injury which kept him out of action for nearly three months.

The versatile Sanele Nohamba returns to flyhalf alongside Springbok halfback Morne van den Berg, who retains his position at No 9.

In the pack, tighthead prop Conraad van Vuuren replaces Asenathi Ntlabakanye (concussion) and lock Ruben Schoeman starts for the injured Darrien Landsberg.
