Guilty.

Former Scotland captain Stuart Hogg has pleaded guilty in court to a domestic abuse charge against his estranged wife over a five-year period.

The charge stated that the Montpellier fullback engaged "in a course of behaviour which was abusive" to his ex-partner and that he "did shout and swear in an aggressive manner, track her movements (and) send her messages which were alarming and distressing in nature."

The court heard that 32-year-old Hogg berated his wife for "not being fun" after going on drinking binges with friends.

The former Exeter Chiefs star reportedly sent "in excess of 200 text messages in a few hours" despite having been asked to leave Mrs Hogg alone, and she had a panic attack due to the messages, the hearing was told.

Prosecutor Drew Long said the couple argued about where they would live and Mrs Hogg was "scared" of her husband when he became angry and would "wish it was morning so he would sober up."

The charge also involved Hogg monitoring his wife’s movements through the Find My Phone app after they had split up in 2023. Hogg will be sentenced on 5 December at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
