USA Eagles centre Gabby Cantorna has committed her future to Exeter Chiefs Women, signing a new contract that will see her remain at Sandy Park for a sixth consecutive season.

A cornerstone of the Chiefs since their women’s team was founded in 2020, Cantorna has been a consistent force in the side's rise through the English women's game. The 29-year-old playmaker has racked up 70 appearances, five tries, and an impressive 310 points, making her the club's all-time leading scorer.

"I am proud to re-sign with the Exeter Chiefs," said Cantorna. "This club is more than a team…it's home. The support from the fans, the love I have for the community, and the bonds in this group mean everything to me. I'm excited to be staying put, and I can't wait for what's next."

Cantorna, who is preparing to join the USA Eagles for the upcoming Pacific Four Series, brings a wealth of experience and pedigree to the Exeter setup. Coached by her father in high school, she was a standout collegiate player at Penn State, winning four national titles and earning Collegiate All-American honours every year from 2013 to 2017. Her international debut for the USA came in 2018 against New Zealand.

Since arriving in Devon in 2020, Cantorna has become a fan favourite and a leader within the squad. Her performances in the Premier 15s earned her a nomination for the league's Team of the Season in her debut year.

Interim head coach Steve Salvin praised the centre's impact both on and off the pitch.

"Gabby is one of our most experienced players and her points tally speaks for itself," he said. "She is one of the founding players and it's important to have that experience around as we develop our team this season. Gabby is also an excellent player who knows the game through and through, so will continue to be an invaluable asset."

With Cantorna locked in for the future, Chiefs fans can look forward to seeing one of their original stars continue to shine in black and white.
