Quins flank pens contract extension

NEWS: Harlequins flank Will Evans has signed a new contract with the Premiership club.
The 27-year-old was part of the squad that won the Premiership title in 2020-21 and won three club player of the year awards last season.
The destructive flank is closing in on 100 appearances (96) in a Harlequins shirt and has cemented himself as a fan-favorite, renowned for his impact in the contact area and clamp-like strength over the ball.
Evans is regarded as one of the league's top disruptors at the breakdown. Last season he recorded 20 turnovers in the Premiership, second only to teammate Alex Dombrandt (21). He also topped the attempted tackles made chart with a staggering 286 efforts.
The 2023/24 season saw Evans play his best rugby in the famous Quarters as he scooped up a hat-trick of accolades - Supporters' Player, Players' Player, and Men's Player of the Year - at Harlequins' End of Season Awards.
This term, he featured in every league fixture and is on course to surpass last year's turnover total having already registered nine after just six rounds - he's also scored three tries, including a double at Sandy Park in an emphatic display against Exeter Chiefs.
Evans is determined to fight for more silverware this season and beyond, at the Club that's become his 'home'.
"I'm excited to sign my new deal," said Evans.
"I love playing for the coaches who've put time and effort into my development, and I feel like London and the Club is my home - I don't want that to change.
"I feel appreciated at this club. I have a great relationship with the fans and the rest of the squad - I love going to work every day, putting on the shirt, and playing at The Stoop.
"On a personal level, last year was the best of my career and I knew I wanted to keep stepping forward with this badge on my chest. We have a load of youngsters coming through, who'll continue to push the club forward and hopefully we can create a lot more memories, and ultimately lift more silverware."
