Carr leads rejuvenated Bulls back home

Nizaam Carr will captain a Vodacom Bulls team sprinkled with new faces against former side Western Province in the Currie Cup at Cape Town Stadium on Sunday.

Under the stewardship of new head coach Phiwe Nomlomo, the experienced Carr leads a multi-talented 23 in the Pretoria outfit's opening match of the competition.

Hooker Joe van Zyl and props Dylan Smith and Francois Klopper, who featured sparingly in the Vodacom URC and Champions Cup last season, earn a place in the starting XV, while the selection of Jannes Kirsten ensure the flanker continues to gain game time.

Off-season acquisitions Sintu Manjezi and Cobus Wiese will pack down behind the front three. Former Junior Springbok Corne Beets joins Carr and Kirsten in the back row.
