A versatile member in the Sharks pack is reportedly a target for Edinburgh as the Vodacom URC outfit look to replenish their squad for the 2025-26 campaign.

According to RugbyPass, utility forward Dylan Richardson has been linked with a move to Edinburgh and reunion with former Sharks boss Sean Everitt.

Richardson, who can play hooker and flanker, is believed to be lined up as a replacement for fellow Scotland international Dave Cherry, who is set for a move to France.

The 26-year-old, currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, has made nine appearances for the Sharks this season.

A potential move to Edinburgh comes after the Durbanites extended the contract of youngster Ethan Bester who, with Fez Mbatha, are the six-Test Richardson’s main rivals to succeed Bongi Mbonambi as the first-choice No 2 at the Shark Tank.
