Jake White has convinced a former Vodacom Bulls and Springbok lock to return to Pretoria from France.
Nicolaas Janse van Rensburg, an Affies old boy, played 31 matches for the Bulls from 2014 to 2016 across all competitions, before joining White at Montpellier.
The 30-year-old has made 170 appearances for the French club and earned his solitary Test cap against Argentina in Port Elizabeth in 2021. He was called up to the Bok squad again last year by coach Rassie Erasmus, but did not play.
According to Rapport, Janse van Rensburg has asked Montpellier to release him from his contract a season early as he has a young family and wants his children to attend school in South Africa.
