Full disclosure, I spotted that nickname for Kingston Park from one of the Gloucester social media posts, but it struck a chord! Many of us have “war stories” to tell about watching Bath play the Falcons in sub – arctic weather with a wind that seems to come straight off the Siberian tundra. That said, if the Met Office is to be believed (quick pause whilst large pinch of salt is taken) then Friday evening should be a relatively balmy 8c or so with virtually no wind. Exactly the sort of conditions that would have the Falcons supporters’ round ball counterparts at St James’ Park peeling their shirts off. So it should be a good evening for entertaining rugby, but potentially there’s enough suspense and jeopardy in this match to grace an Alistair Maclean novel!
